MANAGEMENT APPROACH
To visit the territory of the nature reserve, you must get a permit. You can get a permit at the office of the nature reserve: Yuzhno-Kurilsk, Zarechnaya Street, 5.

You can travel through the nature reserve only along the official routes.
If you are a researcher, photographer, volunteer or represent any other third party, please contact the administration to draw the required documents.

Management Approach in Kurilsky Nature Reserve
In the nature reserve the following activities are prohibited:

1. finding, passage and passage of unauthorized persons and vehicles without a pass;
2. destruction and damage of sold-out houses, barriers, border posts and other information signs and stands of the reserve, as well as equipped recreation sites;
3. contamination of the territory with household and industrial waste, fuel products, garbage, etc .;
4. any type of forest use:

  • logging,
  • collection of plants, mushrooms, their parts or derivatives;
5. fishing animals:
  • hunting, fishing, collecting eggs;
6. collection of zoological, botanical, mineralogical and other collections, except for those provided for by the theme and plans of scientific research in the reserve;
7. economic activity:

  • haymaking,
  • grazing,
  • transit drive of pets,
  • placement of apiaries;
8. any disturbance of the soil cover:
  • making fires,
  • digging holes and so on.,
  • exploration and development of minerals;
9. actions that change the hydrological regime of lands
  • setting up tents at hydrothermal springs and on fumarole fields,
  • blocking of rivers and streams,
  • перегораживание рек и ручьев,
  • logging and destruction of vegetation on the banks of rivers and streams;
10. construction of:
  • enterprises,
  • buildings and structures,
  • fishing camps,
  • temporary shelters,
  • roads and overpasses,
  • power lines, etc .;
11. introduction of living organisms for the purpose of their acclimatization;
12. application of mineral fertilizers and chemical plant protection products;
13. use of the coastal strip and littoral (up to the line of maximum low tide) for passage and passage;
14. the flight of helicopters and airplanes below 2000 meters over the reserve without the consent of its administration or the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, as well as aircraft overcoming the sound barrier over the territory of the reserve;
15. any other activities that disrupt the natural development of natural processes, threaten the state of natural complexes and objects, and also not related to the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to the reserve.

    Management Approach in Protective Zone
    Prohibited: hunting, destroying nesting sites, training hunting dogs, amateur fishing in the Sernovodskaya, Saratovskaya, Tyatina, Nochka rivers, travelling along routes not approved by the nature reserve, the use of pesticides;

    It is prohibited to: ride snowmobiles and other high-traffic equipment (besides forest guards of the Yuzhno-Kurilsk forestry to protect the state forest fund) in Tyatinsky area of the buffer zone, along the river valleys of Rudny area of the protective zone: the Mostovaya river with tributaries, the Severyanka, Rogachevka, Perevalny, Saratovka Rivers, along the river valleys of Sernovodsko-Golovninskyarea of the protective zone: the Andreevka, Sernovodka Rivers, including the isthmus of the same name.

    Restricted: felling, harvesting wild plants, lektech raw materials, the use of mineral fertilizers, the arrangement of places for mass recreation and organized tourism, the laying of roads, pipelines, and other communications; construction of new enterprises and economic facilities, as well as other types of economic activities that may have a negative impact on the protected natural objects in the state reserve.

    Doing various general activities in the protective zone (agricultural, forestry, etc.) is subject to approval by the nature reserve in order to prevent damage to natural objects.

      Management Approach in Marine Protective Zone
      Marine protective zone protects the territory of Kurilskiy State Nature Reserve from adverse anthropogenic impacts, preserving conditions for the normal functioning of coastal marine communities.

      A limited nature management regime has been established in the protected zone. Any economic and other activity within the buffer zone that negatively affects the state of ecosystems and certain species of animals and plants of shelf waters is prohibited.



      In the protective zone the following activities are prohibited:

      • dredging, blasting, drilling operations;
      • laying of cables, pipelines and other communications;
      • burial of waste from public utilities, industrial and military facilities;
      • discharge from ships and other floating structures of oily and domestic water;
      • hunting and scaring birds and marine mammals, disturbing seals in rookeries;
      • presence of floating structures.
